Cotton Association of India signs pact with ICA for mutual cooperation

ADILABAD, SEPTEMBER 20, 2024: The Cotton Association of India (CAI) and the International Cotton Association (ICA) signed a memorandum of understanding for mutual cooperation and to combine their efforts for promoting fair business practices and contract sanctity in cotton.

An ICA delegation recently met the CAI team led by its president Atul S. Ganatra and interacted on various cotton related matters of interest to both the top organizations including the proposal to organize ICA training programmes in India, ICA Bremen certification for a few CAI laboratories and their recognition by ICA, proposal to organize ICA events in India and increasing member base of ICA in India, among others.

The ICA delegation accompanied by Mr. Ganatra and Additional Vice President Vinay N. Kotak also met the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) Managing Director Lalit Kumar Gupta and a few top representatives of leading Indian textile mills.

The ICA is the world’s leading arbitral body on cotton and majority of cotton trading the world over is done by as per the ICA bylaws. CAI is a 103 year old apex cotton body in India.

The ICA delegation included president Kimberlie Hanna, Managing Director Bill Kingdon and, Director Jagan Gopinath were also slated to meet a few prominent textile mills in Coimbatore and Chandigarh before concluding their India visit.
