RAMAGUNDAM, JUNE 08, 2024: The Task Force police of the Ramagundam Commissionerate of Police have arrested two persons and seized 60 kilograms of banned fake BT cotton seeds worth Rs 1.8 lakhs at Malkala village of Hajipur police stations in Mancherial district on Saturday.
Following credible information about the transportation of fake cotton seeds from Korutla in Jagtial district to Mancherial, the Task force police along with local police intercepted a two-wheeler bearing number TS19 B7434 and two bags of fake cotton seeds. They confessed their names as G Rajashekhar (28) and M Sampath (27) and stated that they had purchased the fake seeds from Shabuddin in Korutla and planning to sell the same in Mancherial district and make a fast buck.
They were handed over to Hajipur police station for further investigation. The police seized the two-wheeler used by the accused and the cotton seeds bags.
