The temple to celebrate its 14th anniversary and emerged popular destination for devotees to seek the blessings of Goddesses

KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 10, 2024: The popular and most sought after temple in Karimnagar town, the Maha Shakthi temple, at Chaitanyapuri, is being spruced up for the 14th anniversary celebrations on Tuesday with religious fervour.
Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Hampi Virupaksha Vidyaranya Swamy to participate and special puja rituals on Tuesday. The temple houses Goddesses Maha Durga, Maha Lakshmi and Maha Saraswathi at one place. Besides, it also houses Sri Lakshmi Ganapthi, Sri Anantha Nagendra Swamy. The temple was constructed by Union Minister and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay and it was inaugurated on June 17, 2010 when he was a municipal corporator.
As part of the chathurdashi (14th year) celebrations, the special puja rituals would be conducted from morning 4.30 am onwards on Tuesday. The Jagadguru Vidyaranya Swamy would conduct panchamutra abhishekam to all the deities of the temple shrine. There would be Ganapthi puja, akanda deeparadhana, Lakshmi Ganapathi homam, Rudra sahitha Chandi homam, purnaahuti. Later in the evening at 7 pm, there would be mass ‘kum kum’ puka, Lalitha sahasranama parayanam, Hanuman chalesa and others.
The temple conducts all the festivals traditionally with the participation of thousands of devotees. During the Dasara festivities, the temple conducts navarathri celebrations by daily dandiya programmes. Besides, several thousands of devotees wear ‘Durga matha’ mala and participate in the puja rituals at the shrine.
During the Shravanama and Karthika masam, the women devotees arrive in scores to offer prayers and participate in various puja rituals. The temple celebrates Ganesh chathurthi, Shiva Rathri, Deepavali and other festivals. The parents visit the temple along with their children to conduct ‘Akharabhyasam’ (initiation of education) and ‘Anna prasana’. There is a popular belief among the devotees pray at temple shrine and conduct 11 pradhikshanams around the temple and after fulfillment of their wishes perform the pradikshanams of their choice to appease the Goddesses as part of thanks giving.
