KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 24, 2026: Students of SRR Government Arts & Science College (Autonomous), Karimnagar, under the aegis of the Youth Tourism Club, visited the historic Trikuta Temple at Nagunur as part of an educational heritage tour on the occasion of World Tourism Day on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Prof. K. Ramakrishna encouraged students to explore the growing employment opportunities in the tourism sector and stressed the importance of protecting the historical and cultural heritage of the region.
Yuva Tourism Club Coordinator of SRR College, Kanaparthy Sudhakar stated that the historic structures at Nagunur, dating back to the 12th–13th centuries CE, stand as remarkable testimony to the architectural excellence and sculptural traditions of the Kakatiya period. He emphasized that safeguarding such heritage monuments for future generations is the collective responsibility of society.

A Ramakishan and G. Rajender encouraged students to undertake field visits to historical and heritage sites to enhance their practical knowledge and understanding of history.
During the visit, students closely observed the temple architecture, intricate sculptures, construction techniques and artistic skills of the craftsmen of the Kakatiya period.
The field visit provided them with valuable knowledge and practical exposure and was described as an inspiring experience that could encourage future research in archaeology and history.
The participating faculty members and students were appreciated by Principal Prof. K. Ramakrishna, Vice-Principal Nitin Pathak, T. Rajaiah, State President of the TG College Teachers’ Association K. Surender Reddy, Staff Club Secretary Mallaram Srinivas Reddy, and faculty members and Incharges of the Arts Department, including M. Satya Prakash, CH. Praveena, V. Rajesham, A.Somanarasaiah, Srinivasa Rao, M.Satish Reddy, P.Srinivas, M.Vinay, S.Satyanarayana, Nagaiah, Katta Venu and K. Arjun were also present.
