HYDERABAD, SEPTEMBER 09, 2026: The Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (IIE) Cell of Bhoj Reddy Engineering College for Women (BRECW), Hyderabad, organised the Internal Hackathon Competition – “Smart Minds Hackathon” as part of Smart India Hackathon on Wednesday (September 09, 2026).
The inaugural session began with the traditional lighting of the lamp in the presence of the college management, faculty members, and enthusiastic students. The Smart Minds Hackathon 2026 was organised as an Internal Hackathon Competition for Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2026, to encourage students to identify real-world challenges, develop innovative ideas, and work collaboratively towards technology-driven solutions. The hackathon provided students with a platform to showcase their creativity, technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. V. Sudha, Secretary, encouraged students to actively participate in innovation-driven initiatives and develop solutions that address real-world societal challenges. Dr. Ch. Sujatha Gangadhar, Chief Operating Officer, highlighted the institution’s commitment to promoting innovation, creativity, and technology-oriented programmes that provide students with opportunities to develop practical skills. Dr. K. Gracy Saila Sree, Director – HR & Academics, appreciated the initiative and emphasised the importance of innovation, teamwork, and technological skills in preparing students for future opportunities.
Dr. G. Shyama Chandra Prasad, Principal, motivated students to actively participate in the hackathon and make the best use of the platform to transform their ideas into innovative solutions. Mr. G. Dayakar Reddy, Vice Principal, commended the efforts of the organizing team for conducting the Internal Hackathon and encouraged students to utilize such opportunities to enhance their creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
The hackathon was coordinated by Dr. Samit Kumar Singh, IIC Convener & IIE Cell Coordinator, along with the Committee Members of the IIE Cell, who actively supported and facilitated the successful conduct of the event. The team briefed the participants on the objectives, guidelines, themes, and activities planned for the day.
The Internal Hackathon provided students with an opportunity to work in teams of six members, including the Team Leader, and develop innovative solutions based on the identified SIH themes. The event promoted collaborative learning, innovative thinking, technical exploration, teamwork, and the development of practical solutions to contemporary challenges.
The Smart India Hackathon 2026 concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the successful completion of an engaging and innovation-focused Internal Hackathon Competition. The programme provided students with a valuable opportunity to demonstrate their creativity, teamwork, technical capabilities, and problem-solving skills. The initiative reaffirmed BRECW’s commitment to promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, collaborative learning, and industry-relevant education, while encouraging students to become confident innovators and contribute towards building a smarter India through technology and creative solutions.
