 Special abhishekams, gow puja and religious events held with devotion
TIRUPATI, SEPTEMBER 04, 2026: Gokulashtami celebrations were held with devotion and traditional rituals at TTD local temples in Tirupati, Tiruchanoor, Kapila Theertham and Narayanavanam on Friday.
Special Abhishekam, Snapana Tirumanjanam, processions, Go Puja and Gokulashtami Asthanam were performed to mark the birth of Lord Sri Krishna.
Gokulashtami Celebrations at Tiruchanoor
At the Sri Krishna Swamy Temple, affiliated to Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple in Tiruchanoor, Abhishekam was performed to the Moola Murthis in the morning, followed by Snapana Tirumanjanam in the afternoon.
At 6.45 pm, Sri Krishna Swamy was taken in a procession on the Pedda Sesha Vahanam around the four Mada Streets, blessing the devotees. Go Puja and Gokulashtami Asthanam were performed later.
On September 5: Snapana Tirumanjanam will be held from 3 to 4 pm, followed by Oonjal Seva. Utlotsavam and Asthanam will be conducted from 6 to 7.30 pm.
Special Rituals at Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple
At Tirupati Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple, Abhishekam to Sri Krishna Swamy, Purana Parayanam and Asthanam were performed at 4 pm on the occasion of Gokulashtami.
Sri Venugopala Swamy Temple, Kapila Theertham
At the Sri Venugopala Swamy Temple, affiliated to Sri Kapileswara Swamy Temple, the Lord was awakened with Suprabhatam in the morning, followed by Abhishekam to the Moola Murthi.
Sri Krishna Swamy was taken in a grand street procession from 6 to 8 pm, followed by Gokulashtami Asthanam from 8 to 8.30 pm.
Gokulashtami Celebrations at Narayanavanam
At Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Narayanavanam, the day began with Suprabhatam, followed by Thomala Seva, Panchanga Sravanam and purification rituals.
Abhishekam to Sri Krishna Swamy was performed from 5 to 6.40 pm, followed by Gokulashtami Asthanam and Nivedana.
On September 5: Suprabhatam, Thomala Seva and Panchanga Sravanam will be performed in the morning. Sri Krishna Swamy’s street procession will be held at 9 am, followed by Utlotsavam at 5 pm. TTD officials, temple priests and staff participated in the celebrations.
