TTD EO performs traditional Gow Puja
Gowmata holds a special place in Sanatana Dharma: TTD gives top priority to cow protection
TIRUPATI, SEPTEMBER 04, 2026: A grand Gow Puja was performed at the Sri Venkateswara Gosamrakshana Shala of TTD on Friday morning on the occasion of Gokulashtami. TTD Executive Officer Sri Muddada Ravichandra offered prayers at the Sri Venugopala Swamy temple located in the Gosala and participated in the special rituals.
Amid Vedic chants, the EO offered new clothes and flower garlands to Gomata and calves, performed pradakshinas and offered harathi.
As part of the celebrations, the EO personally milked a cow and handed over the sacred milk to the temple priests. The milk was then used for the abhishekam of Sri Venugopala Swamy.
7 Crore “Om Namo Venkatesaya” Japa Offering
The EO also visited the programme organised to offer japa books containing seven crore chants of “Om Namo Venkatesaya” to the Lord and participated in the Poornahuti ceremony.
Officials said that worshipping Gomata is a sacred tradition of Indian culture and Sanatana Dharma, with devotees revering the cow as a symbol of divine presence. They said TTD continues to give special priority to cow protection and Go Seva and is taking steps to further strengthen and develop the Gosala.
The cultural programmes organised on the occasion received an enthusiastic response from the devotees.
Tirupati MLA Sri Arani Srinivasulu, TTD Board Member Sri G. Bhanu Prakash Reddy, JEO (Education & Health) Sri Prabhala Gopinath, Gosala Director Sri Sivakumar, VGO Sri Giridhar, In-charge DLO Sri Venkata Subbanaidu, other officials, staff and a large number of devotees participated in the celebrations.
