HYDERABAD, AUGUST 15, 2026: The National Institute of Plant Health Management (NIPHM), Hyderabad, an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India, has celebrated the 80th Independence Day on Saturday in the presence of Dr C Tara Satyavathi, Director General, NIPHM, along with staff and trainees of NIPHM.
As part of this celebration, a quiz competition was organised among staff and trainees on 12th August 2026. During the event, the National Song ‘Vande Mataram’ was played at NIPHM as part of the year-long commemoration of 150 Years of the National Song “Vande Mataram”. The School Children (X Standard) studying in Government Secondary School, Budvel, Hyderabad, have also participated along staff and trainees of NIPHM and mesmerised the audience with their singing and dance performances.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. (Mrs) C Tara Satyavathi, Director General, NIPHM, highlighted the importance of Independence in everyone’s life and informed that NIPHM organised 295 training programs during the last financial year, training around 11,323 stakeholders on various topics related to Plant protection in Agriculture & allied areas.
The event concluded with the distribution of prizes to winners in the quiz competition and School Children who participated in the cultural programme.
