RAMAGUNDAM, AUGUST 15, 2026: NTPC Ramagundam & Telangana celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm at MG Stadium, PTS Township, in Ramagundam, on Saturday. The celebrations graced by Shri Chandan Kumar Samanta, Executive Director (R&T), NTPC, as Chief Guest, along with Smt. Rakhi Samanta, President, Deepthi Mahila Samithi.
The programme began with floral tributes to the statue of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, followed by a soulful rendition of Vande Mataram, flag unfurling and a ceremonial Tricolour Salami by CISF personnel. The National Anthem, Tricolour demonstration by the CISF Fire Wing and a ceremonial parade by Township Security, CISF, school students and NCC cadets further strengthen the spirit of patriotism.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest highlighted the significance of Independence Day and called upon everyone to uphold the values of freedom, responsibility and nation-building while contributing to the continued growth of NTPC and the nation.
The celebrations feature the release of Tricolour balloons, distribution of cycles to GEM girls under CSR and a vibrant cultural programme by Balbhawan, Vidya Vihar Welfare Wing, Drill and township schools. A special aero show by M/s Aerovision Aeromodeling Foundation, Nagpur, adds further excitement to the occasion.
Parade awards, special recognition mementoes and motivational awards are presented to outstanding participants and teams. BUH Meritorious Awards and Health Champions & Wellness Awards also recognise exemplary contributions and commitment to employee well-being.
The programme concludes with a Vote of Thanks, followed by a visit to Dhanwantari Hospital, where the dignitaries distribute fruits to admitted patients as a gesture of care and compassion.
The celebrations reflect NTPC Ramagundam & Telangana’s commitment to patriotism, community welfare, employee well-being and nation-building.
