KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 07, 2026: Trinity – The School of Learning, Salehnagar, Karimnagar, celebrated the vibrant and sacred festival of Bonalu with immense joy, devotion, and cultural pride on Friday. The celebration brought together the Trinity management, students, teachers, mothers, and parents in a grand display of Telangana’s rich cultural traditions.
The celebrations began with a magnificent Bonam procession, creating an atmosphere filled with devotion and festive spirit. The beautifully decorated Bonams prepared by the mothers of students added colour and grandeur to the celebration. The procession was led with great devotion by Director Dasari Mamatha Reddy, Principal Ratnamala Behara, teachers, parents, and students.
The grand procession featured the rhythmic beats of the school band and DJ, energetic Potharaju performances, girls dressed in traditional attire, and the majestic Ammavari Ghatam, making the entire school campus resonate with the spirit of Bonalu. The colourful procession beautifully reflected the traditional essence and festive energy of Telangana.
Following the Bonam procession, the students of Grades VI to IX presented a vibrant and devotional folk dance performance, which mesmerised the gathering with their graceful movements, traditional expressions, and energetic presentation. The celebration became even more joyful when the Director, Principal, teachers, and parents joined together for a spirited group dance, spreading happiness, unity, and festive enthusiasm among everyone present.
Addressing the gathering, Director Mamatha Reddy explained the cultural and spiritual significance of Bonalu. She highlighted how, in earlier times, people faced various unpredictable and difficult-to-cure diseases and prayed to Goddess Pochamma and other forms of the Divine Mother for good health, protection, and well-being by offering Bonam.
She explained that Bonalu is celebrated as Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu in Secunderabad, while in many other towns and villages of Telangana, it is traditionally associated with Pochamma Bonalu. Though the forms and names may differ, the devotion is ultimately directed towards the same Divine Mother, Adi Shakti, symbolising strength, protection, prosperity, and well-being.
Chairman Dasari Prashanth Reddy emphasised that education is not complete without understanding, respecting, and celebrating our culture and traditions. He said that celebrations such as Bonalu provide children with an opportunity to learn the values of gratitude, togetherness, respect for cultural heritage, and pride in the traditions of Telangana.
Principal Ratnamala Behara stated that Trinity strives to inculcate culture, tradition, values, and character along with quality education. She encouraged students and parents to actively participate in such cultural programmes, as they help children develop a deeper connection with their roots and heritage.
The celebration concluded on a devotional and joyful note with the distribution of Bonam Prasadam to the students and parents. Parents also shared the sacred prasadam with one another, adding to the spirit of devotion, sharing, unity, and community bonding.
The grand Bonalu celebration at Trinity was not merely a festival; it was a beautiful expression of Telangana’s culture, devotion, tradition, togetherness, and pride, giving students a memorable opportunity to experience and cherish the richness of their cultural heritage.
