RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, AUGUST 07, 2026: As part of the National Handloom Day celebrations, students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Design & Technology at Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for Women, Siricilla @ Vemulawada, captivated everyone with a vibrant exhibition of sustainable garments created from recycled and eco-friendly materials on Friday.
The students transformed everyday waste items such as newspapers, layered paper, dried leaves, jute bags, tissue paper, plastic covers, mirror pieces, fabric scraps, and other reusable materials into stylish and innovative garments. Their creations beautifully showcased how creativity and environmental responsibility can come together to promote sustainable fashion.
The exhibition reflected the students’ imagination, technical skills, and commitment to protecting the environment. Everyone in the programme was impressed by the originality of the designs and appreciated the message that fashion can be both beautiful and environmentally conscious.
Principal P. S. R. Sharma, Vice Principal K. Lavanya, Head of the Department of Design & Technology Ms. Fouzia Bhanu, faculty members Mrs. S. Poojitha and Ms. M. Pallavi, along with all the teaching faculty, appreciated the students for their outstanding creativity, hard work, and dedication. They encouraged the students to continue exploring innovative and sustainable design practices that contribute to a greener future.
