RAMAGUNDAM, JULY 22, 2026: The National Cadet Corps of Sacred Heart High School, Godavarikhani, Peddapalli district, celebrated the National Flag Adoption Day on Wednesday.
The National Flag Adoption Day is celebrated, marking the historic day when the Indian National Flag was officially adopted by the Constituent Assembly on 22 July 1947, just weeks before India’s Independence. The flag was designed by Pingali Venkayya.

Our Tiranga symbolises the spirit of a united and free India:
🟧 Saffron – Courage & Sacrifice
⬜ White – Peace & Truth
🟩 Green – Growth & Prosperity
Ashoka Chakra – Progress, Justice & Dharma.
Principal Sister Arogya Mary said: “The word Tricolour not only awakens the spirit of patriotism, unity and sacrifice, but it also has a glorious saga. Countless people sacrificed their lives and realised the dream of Independence. After a long struggle, on July 22, 1947, the Tricolour was adopted as the National flag of India. The day is commemorated and celebrated across the country, and this day is an opportunity for every Indian to understand the importance of the Tricolour.”

NCC First Officer PD Jyothsna enlightened the cadets about the importance and significance of the National Flag and patriotism and honour to the nation. She also said that we should honour the Tiranga with pride, respect, and gratitude, remembering the sacrifices that gave us our freedom.
