Representatives alleged that the Telangana Medical Council has been targeting them and creating difficulties for their profession.
KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 16, 2026: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar said that RMP and PMP practitioners are the backbone of healthcare in rural areas and play a vital role in ensuring medical services reach the grassroots.
He observed that it is difficult to imagine rural healthcare functioning effectively without their services and stressed that attacks on such healthcare providers are unacceptable. He urged the government to deal firmly with those responsible for such incidents and warned that any disruption in the services of rural medical practitioners could adversely affect the healthcare system in villages.
As part of the nationwide outreach programmes marking twelve years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure, Bandi Sanjay Kumar organised a “Chai Pe Charcha” interaction with RMP and PMP practitioners at a private function hall in Manakondur on Monday. During the interaction, RMP and PMP practitioners shared the challenges they face in the field and expressed concern over what they described as frequent and unwarranted attacks on rural healthcare providers. They appealed for stronger measures to prevent such incidents and requested that pressure be exerted on the government to ensure strict action against those responsible. The practitioners also informed the Minister that the RMP and PMP Doctors’ Association in the Manakondur constituency does not have its own community building and requested financial assistance for the construction of a dedicated association office and meeting hall.
Speaking on the occasion, Bandi Sanjay Kumar strongly condemned attacks on RMP and PMP practitioners. “RMPs and PMPs are serving society and contributing positively to public health. They are not causing harm; rather, they are providing affordable healthcare services while treating patients like members of their own families. It is impossible to imagine rural society without the services of RMPs. Attacks on such healthcare providers cannot be justified under any circumstances. If RMPs were to suspend their services even for ten days, the rural healthcare system would come to a standstill. They are the primary source of healthcare assurance for people living in villages,” he said.
The Minister also highlighted the developmental works undertaken in the Karimnagar Parliamentary Constituency during his tenure as Member of Parliament. He stated that more than ₹22,000 crore had been secured over the past seven years for the constituency’s development. He said substantial investments had been made in the fields of education, healthcare, and infrastructure. According to him, if a BJP government comes to power in Telangana, Central funds would be utilised more effectively and without diversion.
“Our priorities are education and healthcare. We are committed to providing quality education to poor students at par with corporate institutions. If the RMP and PMP Doctors’ Association in Manakondur identifies suitable land for a welfare or association building, I will ensure financial assistance for its construction,” he assured.
Appealing to the people, Bandi Sanjay said, “You have given opportunities to all political parties. This time, give the BJP an opportunity and experience a governance model focused on development, transparency, and public welfare.”
