MANGALURU, MAY 26, 2026: Around 1,000 research scholars, post-doctoral fellows, professors and guides participated in “Research Conclave–2026”, organised by the Research and Innovation Council of Srinivas University at Hotel Srinivas in Mangaluru on Tuesday. The conclave brought together scholars, guides, deans and research administrators with the university leadership.
According to the university, it has secured 100 patents and 1,000 copyrights, besides producing over 2,000 research publications. Nearly 1,000 members are engaged in research activities at the institution.

Addressing the participants after inaugurating the conclave, Chancellor of Srinivas University, Dr. A. Srinivas Rao, stressed the importance of strengthening research culture to drive societal progress. Referring to technological advancements in countries such as China, he said sustained investment in research and innovation had significantly improved living standards. He underlined the need to promote both product-based and service-oriented research.
Member of the university’s Board of Governors, Meghana S. Rao, emphasised the importance of taking research outcomes to society and said academic institutions should work towards creating socially relevant innovations.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sathyanarayana Reddy lauded the commitment shown by researchers and urged scholars to focus on multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary studies for greater academic impact.
Registrar Dr. Anil Kumar highlighted the need for collaboration across disciplines and said research should contribute to knowledge advancement and discovery. Evaluation Registrar Dr. Srinivas Mayya D. called upon scholars to broaden the scope of their studies beyond local issues and incorporate sustainable development goals into their work.
Development Registrar Dr. Ajay Kumar spoke on the growing relevance of research in spirituality and its potential contribution to society. Research Director Dr. Praveen B.M. presented the university’s annual research report, detailing its publications, patents and copyrights. Research Coordinator Dr. Shailashree V.T. welcomed the gathering, while Dr. Reena Ranjith proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Prof. Rohan Fernandis.
