HYDERABAD, MAY 16: Creativity to the fore of students during the sixth day of the Education Week organised on the theme of ‘Cultural and Innovation’ on the premises of Government Degree College in Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, on Saturday.
The student and NSS volunteers transformed their campus into vibrant canvases by blending traditional Indian folk and contemporary themes. These events provide a platform for young minds to showcase their artistic brilliance, team spirit and cultural awareness.
As part of the academic competitions, the college conducted Essay Writing and Elocution Competitions on the topic “Initiatives Taken in the Education System by the Government of Telangana.” Students enthusiastically expressed their views on the various educational reforms, welfare schemes, and development programmes introduced by the Government of Telangana.

The college also organised a Poster Making Competition on the theme “Education for a Bright Future.” Students creatively presented their ideas and awareness messages through innovative posters highlighting the importance of education in personal and social development.
Around 50 NSS Volunteers actively participated in various competitions and activities conducted as part of the programme.
As part of the cultural celebrations, students enthusiastically participated in Rangoli, Mehendi, Singing, and Dance Competitions, showcasing their creativity, talent, and cultural spirit. The competitions created a vibrant and joyful atmosphere on the college campus.
On this occasion, M. Himabindu, Principal, appreciated the students for their enthusiastic participation and encouraged them to actively involve themselves in academic, cultural, and innovative activities for overall personality development. Addressing the gathering, she emphasised the importance of creativity, communication skills, and cultural participation in building confidence and leadership qualities among students.
SD Bhavani, NSS Programme Officer, also appreciated the students and NSS Volunteers for their active participation and coordination in organising the events successfully.
As part of a Faculty Development Session, M. Himabindu, Principal, encouraged the teaching staff to improve their Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills, research aptitude, research paper writing, and paper presentation skills in seminars and conferences. She also motivated faculty members to actively engage in academic research and encouraged them to write and publish books, book chapters, research articles, and other scholarly publications to enhance academic excellence and professional development.
The Day–6 celebrations concluded successfully with active participation from students, staff members, and NSS Volunteers, promoting creativity, innovation, cultural awareness, research orientation, and academic excellence.
