
KARIMNAGAR, MAY 11, 2026: Ande Bunga Tirupathi, a Botany Lecturer at the Sri Raja Rajeshwara (SRR) Government Arts & Science College (Autonomous), Karimnagar, completed the Half-Marathon organised by Avantika Constructions Telangana Run on Sunday. Notably, this marks his fourth consecutive successful completion of the half-marathon.
Tirupathi stated that he participates in marathons regularly with the goal of promoting health awareness, discipline, physical fitness, mental strength, and a spirit of sportsmanship among the youth.
A Call for a Healthy Lifestyle
Given the rise in health issues due to sedentary lifestyles, stress, and lack of physical activity, Tirupathi advised everyone to prioritize daily physical activities such as exercise, walking, and running. He emphasized that:
Fitness is not just for athletes but is a necessity for every individual.
A healthy body is the foundation for success.
Youth should limit their time on mobile phones and social media, and instead participate in healthy activities like sports, yoga, and marathons.
College Honours the Achievement
To celebrate his achievement, a felicitation ceremony was organised at the college. Professor Tirukovela Srinivas, Head of the Botany Department, formally honoured Tirupathi with a shawl. He remarked that it is commendable for a lecturer to balance teaching with social responsibility and fitness, serving as a true inspiration to students.
Professor K. Ramakrishna, the College Principal, expressed his pride, stating that rupathi’s achievement brings honor to the institution. He encouraged students to focus on their health alongside their studies, noting that sports play a vital role in personality development.
Surender Reddy, State General Secretary of TGCGTA, highlighted that sports are key to building physical strength, mental agility, and self-confidence. He praised Tirupathi’s discipline and dedication as a benchmark for the younger generation.
