HYDERABAD, APRIL 12, 2026: Concern is mounting over the alleged illegal demolition of structures at the Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS) in Patancheru, with Medak Member of Parliament M. Raghunandan Rao filing a formal complaint and alumni strongly condemning the incident.
The MP personally approached the Patancheru Police Station, urging authorities to safeguard the government school land from encroachers following the reported dismantling of school property.
Meanwhile, a meeting was held at the ZPHS campus on Friday with participation from alumni of the 1995 batch. Speaking at the gathering, telecom board member and alumnus Bindla Kumar, BJP Senior Leader & Telecom Board Member, Sangareddy District. described the demolition as “shocking” and termed it a direct violation of the Supreme Court verdict.
He alleged that buildings and assets of the decades-old institution were demolished secretly during midnight hours, calling it an “attack on democracy.” Kumar emphasised that multiple court rulings, including those from the High Court, District Court, and Supreme Court, had clearly established that there are no private ownership rights over the land in Survey No. 428.

Court Rulings Highlighted
Alumni pointed to a series of judgments that settled the dispute:
* High Court (1990): In CRP No. 3432/1988, claimants were found to have no rights over the land.
* District Court (1994 & 2005): Ruled the land belongs to the government and denied ownership claims of non-cultivators.
* Supreme Court (February 6, 2014): Dismissed SLP No. 4906/2014, bringing a final end to the dispute.
Despite these rulings, Kumar alleged that land grabbers resorted to physical destruction in defiance of the law.
Call for Action
The ZPHS, known for producing several public representatives including sarpanches, corporators, and MLAs, holds significant historical and social value. Alumni stressed that the issue goes beyond demolition, calling it “an attack on the future of village children.”
They urged former students, civic groups, and education advocates to unite in protecting the institution’s land.
Key Demands
The alumni and participants demanded:
* Immediate identification and arrest of those responsible for demolishing government property in violation of court orders.
* Reconstruction of the demolished compound wall on a war footing.
* Provision of full protection and security for the school land.
Appealing to residents, they called for collective action to safeguard public assets, emphasizing that government educational institution lands belong to the people and must be protected.
