JAGTIAL, APRIL 09, 2026: Veteran Congress leader and former Minister T Jeevan Reddy is all set to join the Bharath Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on its silver jubilee formation day on April 27 in the presence of its founder president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
Accordingly, former Minister and BRS working President K Taraka Rama called on the Congress leader Jeevan Reddy at his residence in Jagtial town on Thursday. Mr Rama Rao invited Jeevan Reddy to join the BRS party. Mr Jeevan Reddy also responded positively and stated that he would meet President KCR within two days.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Jeevan Reddy said that he had undergone several harassments during the last 27 months in the Congress. He said that he had become emotional when he resigned from the party. Stating that the people have elected the Congress party to power in the Telangana state, expecting that they would govern properly, he charged that the state was progressing in reverse in the Congress rule.
He recollected that he had been working with BRS president KCR since the formation of Telangana state from 2014 onwards in spite of being associated with the Congress party. Now, in the interest of the state and development, I had decided to join the BRS, he maintained.
BRS working president K Taraka Rama Rao said that the KCR and Jeevan Reddy was having four decades of political association. Stating that they had earlier invited Mr Jeevan Reddy into the BRS, he said that they were again inviting him into the party to serve the society.
Tumultuous welcome to KTR in Karimnagar
Earlier, in Karimnagar town, Mr KTR was accorded a grand welcome in Karimnagar town. On his way to Jagtial, Rama Rao halted in Karimnagar for a while. When he arrived at the MLA camp office, MLAs Gangula Kamalakar and Padi Kaushik, along with BRS leaders, welcomed him.
The MLAs, former legislators and BRS leaders from the erstwhile Karimnagar and Nizamabad districts met him. MLAs Prasanth Reddy (Balkonda) and Dr K Sanjay Kumar, MLC L Ramana, Rajya Sabha member Divakonda Damodar Rao, and former legislators Manohar Reddy, Putta Madhu, Bajireddy Govardhan and Bigala Ganesh Gupta were among those who met the BRS working president.
