Basara Temple development works as per the rituals and traditions

HYDERABAD, APRIL 04, 2026: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has instructed the officials to frame new regulations in the functioning of all temples across the Telangana state on the lines of TTD. The Chief Minister emphasised that spirituality should be given top priority and maintain the sanctity of the temples by prohibiting political party meetings, hoisting flags and demonstrations in the temple premises.
At a high-level review of the development of Basara Sri Gnana Saraswathi Temple, the officials of the state Endowment department made a PowerPoint presentation on the Master Plan for the development of the famous temple. The authorities briefed the Chief Minister about the estimated cost of Rs 225 crore for the development of the temple.
He suggested several modifications in the master plan and also advised that the development works of the Basara temple should be executed by strictly following the rituals and traditions. The officials were also ordered to construct spacious roads to meet the future requirements in view of the increasing number of devotees and pilgrims to the temple.

The CM underscored the need to develop a suitable plantation within the temple premises to ensure that the entire area is adorned with majestic trees in the future. Establishment of a healthcare centre with an adequate number of doctors and medical staff to provide medical services to the devotees during Godavari Pushkaralu and other festivities was also discussed in the meeting.
To control the increasing vehicle traffic in the temple areas, the Chief Minister issued strict orders that the vehicles of prominent dignitaries and VIPs should also be parked outside the temple complex. Those important persons should be allowed to move in the temple premises only by EV vehicles, the CM said instructed the officials to formulate plans and implement the same in this direction immediately. A solar rooftop system will be installed in the parking area.
The Chief Minister stressed that utmost care should be practised to maintain the sanctity of the temple and it remains undisturbed during the development of the temple. The CM warned that strict action would be initiated against the officials if the quality is not maintained in the temple development works.
State Endowment Minister Konda Surekha, Government Advisor Sudarshan Reddy, MP Vem Narender Reddy, Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao, CM’s Principal Secretary Srinivasa Raju, Principal Secretary to Endowment Department Sailaja Rama Iyer, Commissioner Hanumantha Rao, and others were present in the meeting.
