KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 30, 2026: As part of the environmental education programmes organised under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, students of Government Women’s Degree College, Karimnagar, visited Chamanapalli Gram Panchayat in Karimnagar district on Monday. The programme was formally inaugurated by the College Principal, Prof. Varalakshmi, who flagged off the event.
As part of the programme, students were given comprehensive awareness of the theme “Waste to Wealth.” They explained the methods of waste collection and segregation in the village. Students also observed, in practice, how useful products can be made from waste materials. They gained hands-on experience in compost pit preparation and in converting organic waste into manure.
The importance of plastic waste reuse and recycling was also highlighted. Discussions were held on the plantation and the responsibility of every individual in protecting the environment.

TNCC Field Visit Coordinator Suryakanth, Swachh Bharat Coordinator Ramesh, and Eco Club Convener of Government Women’s College, Nalla Manoj Kumar, participated in the programme. Faculty members Ravali, Krishna, Athiya Sultana, and Ekambaram also took part.
Speaking on the occasion, Swachh Bharat Coordinator Ramesh emphasized that environmental protection is the responsibility of every individual and stated that proper waste management helps maintain ecological balance.
Eco Club Convener Nalla Manoj Kumar stated that the use of eco-friendly products not only protects environmental balance but also safeguards human health. He advised students to create awareness in society and to practice effective waste management both at home and outside, contributing towards sustainable development.
Gram Panchayat officials appreciated the active participation of the students. The programme helped in developing a sense of responsibility towards the environment among students and inspired them to remain committed to environmental protection in the future.
