HYDERABAD, MARCH 08, 2026: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has announced that he would make a PowerPoint presentation on the Musi Rejuvenation Project on March 13 to allay apprehensions raised on displacement, rehabilitation and also the government’s vision to develop Musi Riverfront as a big economic hub.
Participating in the International Women’s Day celebrations here today, the Chief Minister lambasted the opposition parties for obstructing the prestigious Musi project which is being developed to promote Hyderabad as the global tourist hub. In Ahmedabad, 10,000 families were displaced and Sabarmati Riverfront was built. They did not provide proper facilities for them. Yamuna Riverfront was built in Delhi, and Ganga Riverfront in UP. The Chief Minister pointed out and wondered why the opposition does not want the Musi project. “What is wrong in constructing the Gandhi Knowledge Centre with Rs 200 crore?, he asked.
The Chief Minister appealed to people to stop getting carried away by opposition politics. All the buildings in the 50-meter buffer zone are of zero value and hence the government is ready to address the grievances of the people. The CM charged that the opposition was obstructing residents of the buffer zone from holding talks with the government on rehabilitation.
The CM sought everyone’s cooperation to save the city from encroachments and transform it into an international-level city and become the backbone of the country’s economic system.

The CM referred to the increasing air pollution in New Delhi. Mumbai was also facing numerous problems and Chennai is struggling from flooding. The Chief Minister warned that Hyderabad was in the Orange zone and the threat of the red category is looming. “We need to develop the city with international standards. Chandrababu and YS Rajasekhar Reddy have transformed Hyderabad. We are trying to make Hyderabad compete with South Korea, New York and Tokyo. Efforts were on to shift the industries outside the ORR.
Further, the CM said that measures were taken to reduce air pollution in Hyderabad by reducing the plying of diesel buses. Over 2500 RTC diesel buses in Hyderabad will be moved to the districts by December and replaced with EV buses.
Announcing that EV scooties will be distributed to college girls soon, the Chief Minister said that the government was implementing zero tax on EV vehicles. The CM also mentioned the government’s target to achieve 3 trillion US dollar economy by 2047 and the investment opportunities in Telangana.
“We have organised a global summit and invited global companies. We will convert the CURE with a population of 1.30 crore into a hub of the service sector.”
Highlighting the women empowerment schemes launched in the Telangana State, CM Revanth Reddy expressed serious concern over discrimination against women, which was still persisting in society, including in developed countries like America. Women are not properly recognised in our country. The responsibility of recognising the skills of women and taking them forward lies with the institutions.
Stating that the Telangana State was formed with the inspiration of Sonia Gandhi, the Chief Minister said that the Congress party has given all the posts including President, Prime Minister, Lok Sabha Speaker, Chief Ministers and Party Presidents to the women. The Telangana government was also giving priority to women in the appointment of district Collectors, SPs and other focal posts in the departments. A key district like Hyderabad has a woman collector. A woman officer in SIB worked to ensure the surrender of 700 Maoists.
The CM listed the women empowerment schemes – providing free travel in RTC, owners of 1000 buses and 1000 MW solar power plants. The government has signed an agreement with Amazon for the sale of goods produced by self-help groups. To recognize and support the skills of women, the government set up 150 stalls on a three and a half acre land worth 1000 crores near Hi-Tech City. We are trying to transform local talent into global talent.
In the wake of increasing trolling on social media, the Chief Minister announced that the government will set up a platform to complain about false stories which are being broadcast and posted on social media soon. There is also a need to stop the disgruntled elements from exploiting the system in the guise of journalists. The CM also said that the government will make a decision on journalists’ housing sites soon and develop a colony in the Future City.
The CM recalled the support of many journalists and women journalists during his political journey. We are organising programmes by inviting women journalists. Women journalists were not allowed to enter the Pragathi Bhavan in the previous government, the CM criticised.
