KARIMNAGAR, DECEMBER 20, 2025: The Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB), which has emerged as a leading Cooperative bank in the country by winning ‘Best Cooperative Bank’ awards from NAFSCOB and NABARD consecutively for several years and emerged as a role model for other cooperatives under the dynamic leadership of its chairman, Konduru Ravinder Rao.
When Mr Ravinder Rao assumed the charge as Chairman of Karimnagar DCCB on November 18, 2005, the bank was running at an accumulated loss of Rs 57.91 crore, and its business was only Rs 400 crore. The Karimnagar DCCB had earned a profit of Rs 119.31 crore during the financial year 2024-25. Currently, the business has crossed Rs 8,100 crore during this financial year. It may be recalled that the Telangana government had dissolved the existing DCCBs and PACS on Friday. But Mr Rao leaves an indelible mark in the progress of the KDCCB which emerged as a role model in the country.
Thanks to the strong guidance of Mr Rao, the DCCB offers all types of loans on par with those of scheduled commercial banks. It provides loans to meritorious students of rural areas to pursue higher education in foreign countries. It is providing loans for housing, poly-houses, solar power units, vehicles, self-employment schemes, SHG women, gold loans, etc. The Karimnagar DCCB stood number one in the state by sanctioning and grounding the units under the PMEGP self-employment scheme units of MSME.
With the visionary leadership of Mr Ravinder Rao, the bank started earning profits from the year 2011-12. In the year 2005, the DCCB had only 29 branches, including the head office in the integrated Karimnagar district, and presently they have 71 branches. The Staff in the year 2005 was only 131, and now it has crossed 500 plus. The bank is providing services in the integrated Karimnagar district with 39 ATMs, one mobile ATM, 194 micro ATMs, 318 POS machines, 2,86,224 Rupay cards, 1,05,426 Rupay KCC cards etc.
The Karimnagar DCCB is the first cooperative bank in the country to take up computerisation of the bank and also PACS in the year 2008-09, which has now become a role model for the entire country to take up computerisation to ensure transparency and accountability by the Union Ministry of Cooperation under the leadership of Amit Shah. The bank had taken core banking in the year 2012.

Mr Ravinder Rao has taken measures for the diversification of the PACS, which are the pillars of the Cooperative banks. The PACS in Karimnagar district had diversified their business activities to reap riches as part of Multi-Servicing Centres (MSC). Now, the PACS are also acting as banks by providing gold loans, vehicle loans, business loans, housing loans, personal loans, rice mills, seed processing units, RO water plants. The PACS operates petrol filling stations, RO water plants, supermarkets, function halls, commercial complexes, locker facilities and more.
The Karimnagar DCCB had emerged as the first bank in the country to take up UPNRM (Umbrella programme for natural resources management), the integrated farming system, the double the farmers’ income. Similarly, the DCCB is the first bank to take up the Watershed development programme in the drought-prone Gambhiraopet mandal.
