KARIMNAGAR, NOVEMBER 07, 2025: The 150-year celebrations of the National Song ‘Vande Mataram’ are currently on across the country. The song emerged as a powerful symbol during India’s freedom movement, rekindling patriotic fervour across the nation and uniting people of all regions, languages, and faiths in one voice of devotion and courage.
It transcended regional, religious, and linguistic barriers to unite diverse people in the common goal of achieving self-governance. Leaders, students, and workers chanted it during protests and demonstrations across the country. Madam Bhikaji Cama even inscribed the words “Vande Mataram” on the first version of the Indian flag she unfurled in Germany in 1907.
The poem was composed by the Bengali poet and novelist Bankim Chandra Chatterjee in a mix of Sanskrit and Bengali. It is widely believed to have been written on November 7, 1875.
Accordingly, a ‘Vande Mataram’ programme was organised at Achievers Active School in Kothi Rampur, Karimnagar, on the occasion of the completion of 150 years of the Vande Mataram song on Friday.
In this programme, the students first held a rally, holding tricolour flags and placards. Later, they sang Vande Mataram collectively and inspired patriotism. Later, the students expressed their freedom struggle spirit through their speeches and patriotic songs.

Speaking on the occasion, school director CH Venkateswarlu said that the Vande Mataram song has great importance, and this program was organised on the occasion of the completion of 150 years of the Vande Mataram song being sung for the first time. Later, school principal CH Pallavi praised the Vande Mataram song for shaping ordinary citizens into freedom fighters in the freedom struggle.
