
RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, SEPTEMBER 17, 2025: The Department of Microbiology at Telangana Social Welfare Residential Women’s Degree College, Shatrajupalli, Vemulawada, grandly organised the “International Microorganisms Day” on Wednesday.
On this occasion, the students of the college showcased exhibitions, models, posters, and various samples highlighting the importance of microorganisms. The programmes particularly focused on creating awareness about the role of microorganisms in biodiversity, their significance in maintaining ecological balance, and their applications in medicine, agriculture, and industry. The creatively designed exhibits by the students impressed everyone.
Addressing the students, Principal K. Lavanya stated that microorganisms play a wonderful role in our lives, bringing us many benefits while sometimes also causing harm. She added that through research, students can find ways to utilise microorganisms effectively and overcome the challenges they pose, which would be possible with their dedicated efforts in the future.
Vice-Principal B. Sumalatha mentioned that such programs not only nurture scientific thinking among students but also enhance their practical knowledge. Head of the Microbiology Department, G. Swapna, said that microbiology is a field with vast future opportunities and advised the students to focus on research. Faculty members and students of the college enthusiastically participated and made the programme a grand success.
