KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 01, 2024: Â Satavahana University Assistant Professor in Economics department K Srivani said that Union Finance Minister Nirmala Seetharaman has presented a balanced budget to boost the rural infrastructure growth and prioritizing the focus on key sections of economy such as poor, women, youth and farmers.
The Minister presented the interim budget of Rs 47.66 lakh crores in the Parliament for the financial year 2024-25. In this, Rs 11.11 lakh crores for the infrastructure sector, Rs 1 lakh crores investment system for the youth who depend on technology, Rs 75,000 crores interest-free loans will be provided to the states for the next 50 years for the implementation of reforms as part of Vikasit Bharat.
This is a kind of auspicious sign for the states to move on the path of development. Under the Prime Minister`s Awas Yojana programme, construction of 2 crore houses for the poor in rural areas has been prioritized. Bringing Anganwadi and Asha workers under Ayushman Bharat seems to give priority to health development. Education sector is not a priority for the short-term budget, so similarly, although no changes have been made in the tax slabs for income tax payers, the exemption of Rs 25,000 in the case of personal tax rebate has given some relief to the salaried employees, she stated.
