KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 13, 29025: NABARD Telangana regional officer Chief General Manager B Uday Bhaskar has formally inaugurated the Ponnagutta Dairy Milk Centre at Ponnagutta Mallikarjuna Swamy Dairy Producers Company Limited in Rajarampalli village of Pegadapalli mandal in Jagtial district on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, the CGM said that whatever work is done by the farmers with collective effort will be put to good use. A total of 641 members have taken membership in Ponnagutta FPO. Each member has contributed Rs 2000. With this contribution, Ponnagutta Dairy FPO has set up a milk collection centre and a donation centre. In addition, an input shop has been set up to provide extensive services to the farmers. He said that an equity grant equivalent to Rs 12.82 lakhs will be given through NABARD for business development assistance.
This milk will be made into value-added products and marketed under the Ponnagutta Mallikarjuna Swamy Dairy branding name. Their value-added products like milk, curd, ghee, paneer, lassi, will also be set up along with these. The FPOs are advised to utilise the PM FME subsidy schemes related to these. They will also donate a TMR Total Mixer with Shailez, etc., for cattle feed.
NABARD General Manager Ganapathi said that the FPO should also set up FPO business plans, TMR mixer plant and pasteurised packaging plant to increase income and informed that it has been incorporated. NABARD DDMs S Jayaprakash, M Dilip Chandra, along with FPO Chairman Mallesham and Directors and Producer Organisation Promotion Institution CEO were present at the event. Sampath Kumar, Community Development Coordinator, Raju and Water also participated, FPO CEO Ramya Ponnagutta, FPO members etc.
