HYDERABAD, MAY 29, 2025: Officials of the Drugs Control Administration, Telangana, busted the unauthorised manufacturing of certain drugs at Siflon Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Unit-I, in ALEAP Industrial Estate, Gajularamaram, Medchal-Malkajgiri District. Stocks worth Rs. 3 lakhs were seized during the raid.
Similarly, the DCA officials seized illegally marketed formulations under the name of Biovus Pharma, without a drug licence, at Moosarambagh, Hyderabad. Stocks worth Rs. 52,737/- were seized during the raid, and they also seized ‘Heamaadri Artho Care Pain Oil,’ an Ayurvedic medicine, in Kukatpally, Medchal-Malkajgiri District, for making a misleading advertisement claiming that it treats ‘Rheumatoid Arthritis’.
In an official release here on Thursday, the DCA stated that acting on credible information conducted a raid at Siflon Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Unit-I, located in ALEAP Industrial Estate, Gajularamaram, Medchal-Malkajgiri District, on 28th May 2025, along with officers from CDSCO, Hyderabad Zone, and detected the unauthorised manufacturing of certain veterinary drugs. During the raid, DCA officers detected the unlicensed manufacturing of certain boluses and granules, including: Albendazole Tablets 250mg (Bolus) Veterinary and Albendazole Granules (Veterinary). Huge stocks of the aforementioned drugs — 537 kgs of Albendazole Tablets 250mg (Bolus) Veterinary and 986 kgs of Albendazole Granules (Veterinary) — which were manufactured illegally without a drug licence at the manufacturing facility, were seized.
The DCA officials seized stocks worth Rs. 3 lakhs during the raid and lifted samples for analysis. K. Prabhakar, Assistant Director, Quthbullapur, I. Srikanth, Drugs Inspector, Gajularamaram, K. Naveen Reddy, Drugs Inspector, CDSCO-Hyderabad Zone, and M. Vikram, Drugs Inspector, CDSCO-Hyderabad Zone were among the officers who carried out the raid.
Seizure of illegally marketed formulations at Moosarambagh, Hyderabad
Following information regarding the illegal marketing of medicines, the officials conducted a raid at Sri Venkateshwara Medi Promotors, situated at SBI Officers Colony, Moosarambagh, Malakpet, Hyderabad. During the raid, the DCA officers detected formulations illegally marketed under the name of Biovus Pharma, without a drug licence, and stocked for sale. However, the marketer, Biovus Pharma, failed to produce the manufacturer-marketer agreement with the manufacturer and also failed to hold a valid drug licence at the marketer’s address indicated on the label. Hence, stocks worth Rs. 52,737/- were seized during the raid. D. Saritha, Assistant Director, Secunderabad, G. Anil, Drugs Inspector, Malakpet, B. Govind Singh, Drugs Inspector, Secunderabad, M. Surendranath, Drugs Inspector, Begumpet, and P. Renuka, Drugs Inspector, Musheerabad, were among the officers who carried out the raid.
Seizure of ‘Heamaadri Artho Care Pain Oil,’ an Ayurvedic medicine, for misleading advertisement
The DCA officials detected an ayurvedic medicine, ‘Heamaadri Artho Care Pain Oil,’ moving in the market with the misleading claim on its labels that it treats ‘Rheumatoid Arthritis’, which is a contravention of the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954. During the raid conducted on 28th May to detect medicines moving in the market with misleading and objectionable advertisements, DCA officials detected ‘Heamaadri Artho Care Pain Oil,’ Manufactured by: Heamaadri Ayurveda Pharmacy, C I E F L Colony, East Anandbagh, Safilguda, Hyderabad, Telangana. The said ayurvedic medicine was detected by DCA officials at a medical store in Kukatpally. Stocks were seized during the raid. N.
