Flays the Congress government for failing to fulfil the promises made to the people of Telangana on the pretext of the state becoming bankrupt
We will confront Congress MLAs and Ministers, along with the people, from May 7 onwards
After the CM’s remarks, it’s all over for them — ‘Khel Khatam, Dukaan Bandh’
RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, MAY 06, 2025: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has strongly criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s statements that the state has become ‘bankrupt’ and that not even a single paisa loan is being granted.
Mr Sanjay said: “The Chief Minister has admitted that he can no longer fulfil the promises made to the people during the elections. There will be no more ₹4,000 pension for the elderly. The promise of ₹2,500 monthly assistance and a tola of gold for Kalyanamasthu has proven to be hollow. Unemployment benefits of ₹4,000 won’t be given either. The ₹5 lakh student assurance card is also off the table. And all the promises made to farmers have been abandoned.”
On Tuesday, the Union Minister made these statements during an interaction with the media persons at Press club in Yellareddypet of Sircilla district. Mr Sanjay said that the Congress party has finished in Telangana — their web of lies and empty promises has been thoroughly exposed, and they’re no longer a player in the political arena. He challenged: “What answer will Rahul Gandhi give now, after holding the Constitution and pledging commitments to the people of Telangana?” The Ministers and Congress MLAs are gripped by fear after the CM’s statements. There is no question of letting go of a Congress that has broken its promises. Starting tomorrow, we will confront Congress MLAs and ministers, along with the people.”
“Revanth Reddy, who should act like the head of the Telangana family, is behaving like someone helpless. It’s shameful that he said the state is bankrupt. People are already strongly opposed to Congress. After the CM’s remarks yesterday, it’s all over for them — Khel Khatam, Dukaan Bandh.
Even Congress MLAs are now worried about their political future. If a family faces a problem, the head tries to reassure and guide them through it. But here, the CM is doing the opposite — he’s tarnishing the image of the state and making all four crore people of Telangana hang their heads in shame. There can be no greater humiliation.
Saying that he isn’t even getting an appointment in Delhi is a blatant lie. The CM has met the Prime Minister several times — most recently in December 2023, July 2024, and February 2025. He frequently meets Union ministers. Just yesterday, he met Nitin Gadkari. Yet, he claims he’s being avoided out of fear that he might steal their shoes. What does he even mean by ‘stealing shoes’? I don’t understand. Maybe this is common in the Congress culture.
The Chief Minister’s remarks make one thing clear: he has thrown in the towel. He admits he can’t fulfil his promises, can’t resolve the issues faced by government employees, and now openly says he’s unable to deliver on what was pledged.
Now the public must decide. Before elections, the same Revanth Reddy admitted the state’s finances were in bad shape. Yet, he promised to implement six guarantees within 100 days. He even gave a bond paper committing to these. But after coming to power, he has washed his hands of everything — saying “it’s your fate” and leaving people in the lurch.From here on: no pensions for the elderly, no ₹2,500 monthly support for women, no gold for brides, and none of the promises made to farmers will be kept.
There is no question of sparing a Congress that has gone back on its word. We will make them answer for deceiving the people. Why did they give bond papers promising six guarantees in 100 days during elections? Why have they now given up? Congress leaders must answer.
The reality of Congress has been exposed. Rahul Gandhi, holding the Constitution, promised to implement every commitment made to the people of Telangana. Now they must answer why they’ve abandoned them. Until then, we will not spare Congress. From tomorrow, we’ll confront their MLAs and ministers, with support from the people.
Still, out of love for Telangana, the Modi government is ready to expand Rajiv Road into a 6-lane national highway. Back in 2022, the same was conveyed to the then BRS government. Here’s the evidence — the Centre’s order dated 3 June 2022. It clearly states: “The Centre is ready to upgrade Rajiv Road (from Hyderabad via Karimnagar to Mancherial) to a 6-lane national highway. But the state government must resolve its contract issues with the existing contractor. If needed, we will consider a Greenfield alignment or national highway expansion.” I will send you these documents — please check for yourself.
And this is not all — the Centre is fully committed to Telangana’s development. In 10 years, we have already spent ₹12 lakh crore. Over the next two years alone, another ₹2 lakh crore will be spent on roads and infrastructure. We are always ready to work together. It’s time Congress stopped slinging mud at the Centre and started focusing on addressing the real issues faced by the people.
