HYDERABAD, MARCH 30, 2025: Dr Venkataramana Kalikivayi, Dean of the School of Medical and Health Sciences at MNR University, has been appointed as a Professional Council member for Optometry in the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP) by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The appointment, effective from March 26, 2025, marks a significant recognition of his contributions to the field of optometry.
NCAHP is the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions serves as the regulatory authority overseeing the allied and healthcare professions across India. It is responsible for individual and institutional registrations, standardizing syllabi and nomenclature, and ensuring the consistent quality of optometry graduates, allied and healthcare graduates nationwide. The commission’s efforts aim to enhance the overall quality of eye care services, allied and healthcare services in the country.
Expressing his gratitude to the Almighty, Dr. Venkataramana said, “I am honored to be selected as a member of the National Commission. Having grown up in an optometry family, with my father serving as an optometrist at Eluru Government Hospital, this recognition is particularly meaningful to me. I am committed to contributing towards advancing optometry education and practice in India.”
