
KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 11, 2024: Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar on Friday conducted the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the ambitious Young India Integrated Residential Schools in Thangallapalli village of Koheda Mandal in Husnabad assembly segment and Yadavulapalli village in Thimmapur mandal of Manakondur assembly segment.
The integrated residential schools aim to provide quality education with international-standard facilities to the poor and weaker sections. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone for the school in Kondurg in the Shadnagar constituency, and Deputy Chief Minister Batti Vikramarka laid the foundation in his Madira constituency. The government decided to construct 28 Integrated Residential schools in 28 assembly segments in the first phase and later cover all 119 assembly segments in the state.
Each school with an ultra-modern and well-equipped campus will be spread over 25 acres of land providing ample space for education and extracurricular activities. The government said each of these English medium residential schools from Class IV to Class XII will be net zero campuses harnessing wind and solar energies and will have an intake of 2,560 students and 120 teaching staff. They will be equipped with digital libraries, smart boards and computer labs.
These schools will transcend caste, religion and class boundaries and will have facilities like dedicated cricket, football grounds and basketball and tennis courts. Each school would be developed at a cost of Rs 180 crore. This year, the government allocated Rs 5,000 crore for the construction of integrated residential schools in the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Transport Minister Mr Ponnam Prabhakar said that these integrated residential schools would become role models for the entire country. Stating that they had taken up promotions and transfers of teachers which were pending for decades, he said that they had also given appointment orders to 10,000 teachers selected through DSC.
Stating that the Young India Integrated Residential Schools was conceived by deputy CM Batti Vikramarka, he said that they would transform the educational scenario in the Telangana state. Manakondur legislator Kavvampalli Satyanarayana, Collector Pamela Satpathy, Additional Collectors Praful Desai and Laxmi Kiran and others were also present.
