TIRUMALA, JUNE 24, 2026: The annual Special Sahasra Kalasabhishekam was ceremoniously observed in Tirumala temple on Wednesday in Tirumala temple.
Significance :
Commemorating the consecration of the silver idol of Sri Bhoga Srinivasa Murty by the famous Pallava Queen Samavai Perundevi several centuries ago, TTD performs Special Sahasra Kalasabhishekam to the utsava deities in Ekantham between 6 am to 8 am in the month of Jyesta.
Koutuka Beram:
The Bhoga Srinivasa Murthy is often considered as Koutuka Beram and is also known as Manavala Perumal.
This deity with four hands, a disc (chakra), and a conch (shankha), is a small 1.5ft tall idol which is believed to be the silver replica of the main deity in all aspects.
