Parents urge the Telangana Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee (TGAFRC) to take action against the engineering college for withholding certificates
KARIMNAGAR, JULY 29, 2026: Some of the engineering colleges in Karimnagar district are harassing the students by collecting their original certificates well in advance and withholding them by not allowing them to join other colleges during the third and final phase of EAPCET counselling, which will be conducted from July 31 onwards.
The private engineering colleges in Thimmapur mandal and other parts of the integrated Karimnagar district have lured the students, who secured low ranks in EAPCET-2026, by promising several sops and collected their original certificates. Some engineering colleges deployed ‘PROs’ to lure the students with false promises and collected their certificates.
Now, with the third and final phase of counselling scheduled to be held from July 31, some of the private engineering colleges are not issuing the certificates to the students to participate in the counselling and join their choicest colleges.
Parents of some of the students said that the Commissioner of Collegiate and Technical Education and JNTU Vice Chancellor should conduct a surprise inspection of some engineering colleges in Karimnagar district and ensure that the students get back their certificates and join their favourite engineering college during the final phase of counselling. The parents reminded that it is mandatory for the engineering colleges to return the certificates to the students whenever they ask before the final round of counselling to secure admission into their choicest engineering colleges.
Reminding that the Telangana Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee (TGAFRC) warned the private engineering colleges against excessive fee collections amounts in the name of Career Development Fee, Campus Recruitment Training, Uniform Fee, and other allied charges etc, the parents urged TGAFRC to give clear instructions to the private engineering colleges against holding original certificates and denying their chance to join their choicest colleges during the third and final phase of counselling.
