JAGTIAL, AUGUST 04, 2026: An Orientation Programme for the newly admitted first-year students was organised on Tuesday morning at the Government Degree College for Women (Autonomous), Jagtial. The programme was conducted under the directions of the Principal, Prof. K. Ramakrishna, and was presided over by the In-charge Principal, Prof. T. Pramod Kumar.
Addressing the students, Prof. T. Pramod Kumar stated that the Orientation Programme would help the students begin their college life with confidence and clarity. He explained various academic aspects of the autonomous college, including the daily class schedule, academic calendar, semester system, internal and external examination pattern, continuous assessment process, attendance regulations, and the salient features of the autonomous system. He advised the students to familiarize themselves with the academic regulations and make the best use of the learning opportunities available on the campus.
Later, N. Vasavi, IQAC Coordinator, briefed the students about the various student support services available in the college for their holistic development. She highlighted the activities of the National Service Scheme (NSS), Telangana Skill and Knowledge Centre (TSKC) for placement training and employment opportunities, Career Guidance and Counselling Cell, Health Club, Eco Club, College Library, Computer Laboratory, sports facilities, various student clubs, and other welfare and support services offered by the institution.
Subsequently, Prof. V. Varaprasad, Additional Controller of Examinations, advised the students to make effective use of the excellent academic environment and modern facilities available in the college. He encouraged them to develop both academic excellence and professional skills, emphasising the importance of discipline, punctuality, ethical values, and commitment in achieving their future educational and career goals.
Faculty members from various departments also interacted with the students and introduced their respective departments, course structures, higher education opportunities, competitive examinations, career prospects, and academic planning.
The programme was coordinated by N. Sangeetha Rani. G. Neeraja, TSKC Coordinator, D. Sujatha and G. Srilatha, NSS Programme Officers, Mr. G. Ramachandram, Examination Coordinator, Mr. S. Mallikarjun, V. Jamuna, faculty members from various departments, non-teaching staff, and a large number of newly admitted students participated in the programme.
