Narendra Modi is the first PM to offer prayers at Vemulawada shrine

RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, MAY 08, 2024:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi has offered special prayers at the historic and ancient Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy devasthanam in Vemulawada on Wednesday.

The Vemulawada temple shrine is also known as Dakshin Kashi. Mr Narendra Modi is the first Prime Minister of the country to visit this ancient shrine and offer prayers to the presiding deities. He also participated in the traditional ‘kode mokku’ ritual at the shrine. The temple authorities presented the PM with the prasadam, seshavastram, portrait and ‘ashirvachanam’. Later, he also waved to the devotees waiting in queue lines.

In his Telugu language post in X formerly Twitter, the Prime Minister said: Today I offered prayers at Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy devasthanam. As Kashi MP, the association with this temple was really great. I prayed for the wellbeing of all the 140 crore Indians”.
