HYDERABAD, JULY 30, 2026: To commemorate the birth anniversary of Jnanpith Award recipient and eminent poet, writer and polyglot Dr. C. Narayana Reddy (CiNaRe), Kala Seva Samithi, Telangana, organised a grand cultural programme and the “CiNaRe Sahithi Puraskaram–2026” presentation ceremony.
Indian soldier, poet, writer, lyricist, and polyglot from Telangana, Peruka Raju, was selected for the prestigious “CiNaRe Sahithi Puraskaram–2026” in recognition of his exceptional literary talent and distinguished contribution to literature through powerful writings imbued with social awareness and human values. The award was presented to him at a special programme held on Wednesday evening at Telangana Saraswata Kala Parishath, Hyderabad, as part of the CiNaRe birth anniversary celebrations.
Hailing from a labourer-and-farmer family background, Peruka Raju is presently serving as a Junior Commissioned Officer in the Indian Army. As a national poet, lyricist, writer and translator, he has earned recognition for building bridges between Indian languages, literature and cultures. His writings reflect nationalism, humanity, social responsibility and cultural unity.
Alongside his literary pursuits, Raju has also been actively involved in social service. Intending to support the poor and underprivileged sections of society, he founded the voluntary organisation “My Gift” and continues to undertake various service-oriented initiatives. “Encouragement is My Gift” remains one of the guiding principles of his life and service.
During the current year, Peruka Raju has received several prestigious awards and honours in recognition of his literary and social contributions. He also writes articles and regular columns in English newspapers, thereby extending his literary and social reflections to a wider readership. Speakers at the programme appreciated the thought-provoking nature of his literature and its wider relevance at the national and international levels.
Speaking on the occasion, Peruka Raju said, “The CiNaRe Sahithi Puraskaram is not merely a personal honour for me; I consider it an honour to every literary person who lives by the truth of humanity. I dedicate this award to every writer who believes in humanity and creates literature with that spirit.”
As part of the felicitation, the organisers presented Peruka Raju with a bouquet, honoured him by adorning him with a traditional headgear and shawl, and subsequently presented the “CiNaRe Sahithi Puraskaram–2026” in recognition of his literary excellence.
The grand programme was attended by Smt. Swapna Kishore, Saraswata Putrudu Daivajna Sharma, Shri CPR Chandramouli (Ex-Air Warrior), Smt. Ch. Shashibala (Vice-President, Telugu Film and Television Welfare Forum), Smt. Anjani Kumar (Superintendent, CSC Court), Smt. Rajitha, Shri Krishna Prasad and Shri Chandu, besides eminent litterateurs, film personalities, educationists, artists, students and youth.
A variety of cultural programmes, including music and entertainment performances, captivated the audience. Literary friends, admirers, members of “My Gift,” people from his native village and his military fraternity expressed their happiness and conveyed their warm congratulations to Peruka Raju on receiving the “CiNaRe Sahithi Puraskaram–2026.”
