₹1 Lakh Financial Assistance for Telangana Candidates Qualified in the Civil Services Preliminary Examination

HYDERABAD, JULY 11, 2026: Good news for Civil Services aspirants from Telangana, the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) will continue the ‘Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhaya Hastham’ scheme this year as well, in accordance with the directions of the State Government, said SCCL Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Buddhaprakash Jyoti in a statement issued on Saturday.
He said that SCCL will provide financial assistance of ₹1,00,000 to every eligible candidate from Telangana who has qualified in the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination this year and is eligible to appear for the Civil Services Main Examination.
Eligible candidates have been invited to submit their applications online. After scrutiny of the applications, ₹1 lakh each will be provided as financial assistance to every eligible applicant. For detailed guidelines and the application procedure, candidates may visit www.scclmines.com.
Dr. Buddhaprakash Jyoti expressed hope that more youth from Telangana would make effective use of the financial assistance provided by SCCL and succeed in the Civil Services this year, enabling them to serve both the State and the Nation.
Background
To enable a larger number of youth from Telangana to succeed in the Civil Services, the State Government directed SCCL to introduce the Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhaya Hastham scheme as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The scheme was launched in 2024 by Chief Minister Shri A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister & Minister for Energy Shri Bhatti Vikramarka, Dr. Buddhaprakash Jyoti said.
As part of the implementation of the scheme, during the 2024 Civil Services Examination, 140 candidates who qualified in the Preliminary Examination received ₹1 lakh each as financial assistance. Of them, 20 candidates qualified for the Interview (Personality Test). As per the directions of the State Government, they were provided with an additional ₹1 lakh each as financial assistance. Out of them, seven candidates were finally selected for the Civil Services.
During the last year, 206 candidates received financial assistance under the scheme. Among them, 50 candidates qualified for the Interview stage, and 20 candidates were finally selected for the Civil Services.
Thus, a total of 346 Civil Services aspirants have received financial assistance from SCCL under the Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhaya Hastham scheme during the last two years, he added.
