EFLU Research Scholar Participates in Interactive Meeting with President of India

HYDERABAD, JUNE 24, 2026: Ramavath Munilal, a second-year PhD scholar in Media and Communication at the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad, had the honour of participating in an interactive meeting with the  President of India, Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi.

The programme, organised by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, was part of the nationwide celebrations of Janajatiya Garima Utsav and “Birsa Lives in New Bharat Week” (May 25 – June 2, 2026), commemorating the contribution, legacy, and pride of tribal communities in nation-building. As part of the visit, participants were given a guided tour of Rashtrapati Bhavan and its museum, where they explored the rich history of the Indian Presidency. The experience included viewing rare gifts, awards, and memorabilia received by successive Presidents of India, offering valuable insights into the nation’s democratic and diplomatic heritage.

For Munilal, who hails from a tribal hamlet and is currently pursuing doctoral research, the opportunity was both inspiring and transformative. Travelling to New Delhi by air, engaging with accomplished tribal scholars, students, and achievers from across the country, and interacting directly with the President of India marked a significant milestone in his academic journey.

Reflecting on the experience, he emphasised that such initiatives by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs play a pivotal role in motivating students from marginalised and tribal backgrounds to pursue excellence in education, leadership, and public service. The interaction has strengthened his commitment to academic achievement and community development, while reinforcing the importance of identity, representation, and service.

This memorable event stands as a powerful inspiration for young tribal scholars—encouraging them to dream bigger, strive harder, and contribute meaningfully to the progress of their communities and the nation.
