KARIMNAGAR, JULY 13, 2026: To mark the National Deworming Day, the Alphores educational institutions distributed Albendazole tablets among Alphores residential junior college students in Kothapalli of Karimnagar town on Monday. The event was inaugurated by Alphores educational institutions chairman V Narender Reddy by administering albendazole tablets to students.
On this occasion, Mr Narender Reddy said, “The albendazole tablet kills worms inside the stomach of children. It also helps treat malnutrition and irritability in children and enhances their memory. These tablets are safe with no side effects.” Deworming initiatives in India—typically celebrated on National Deworming Day—provide free chewable Albendazole (400 mg) tablets to students aged 1 to 19 to combat parasitic infections, he added.
He said that the district administration, in coordination with the district medical and Health Department, had prepared a comprehensive action plan to ensure the successful implementation of the campaign and added that the objective of National Deworming Day was to protect children from intestinal worm infections, which could adversely affect their health, nutritional status and physical as well as cognitive development.
He also said that worm infestations could hinder children’s growth and learning abilities, making the timely administration of deworming medicine essential. “Albendazole is considered highly effective in preventing worm infections and contributes significantly to strengthening children’s immunity,” he added.
