
KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 17, 2025: As per the provisions of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, particularly under Section 54, which mandates regular inspection of Child Care Institutions (CCIs), the Regional Joint Director (RJD), Warangal, Jhansi, conducted an official visit and inspection of Balasadan (Children’s Home for Girls) and the Specialised Adoption Agency (SAA) located in Karimnagar District on Tuesday.
The inspection was carried out in the presence of the District Welfare Officer (DWO), District Child Protection Officer (DCPO), and Protection Officer (Institutional Care) [PO (IC)], to assess the functioning, infrastructure, care standards, child records, and compliance with the Juvenile Justice Act and relevant CARA guidelines.
During the visit, the RJD examined:
- Child admission and discharge registers,
- Individual care plans and case files,
- Adoption procedures under Sections 58 and 61 of the JJ Act,
- Standards of child care and nutrition,
- Availability of qualified staff and counsellors,
- Compliance with CARA Adoption Regulations, 2022.
The RJD appreciated the efforts of the District Child Protection Unit and the management of the institutions for maintaining proper standards. He also issued necessary instructions for further strengthening record-keeping, ensuring the timely updating of the Child Adoption Resource Information and Guidance System (CARINGS), and promoting legal adoptions under the supervision of the District Magistrate as per Section 61 of the JJ Act.
The DWO, DCPO, and PO (IC) assured continued monitoring and support to ensure the welfare and rehabilitation of children under institutional care.
The District Administration remains committed to upholding the rights and best interests of children as envisaged in the JJ Act, 2015. DWO Saraswathi, DCPO D Parveen, Shanta, Senior assistant Radhika, Children Home Superintendent Santhoshi, Sishugruha manager Tejaswi, Keerthi Rajesh and others were also present.
