TIRUPATI, JULY 25, 2026: Ankurarpanam, the traditional commencement ritual for the annual Pavitrotsavams of Sri Kapileswara Swamy Temple in Tirupati, was performed as per Agama traditions on Saturday evening. The three-day festival will be held from July 26 to 28.
The rituals included Vigneswara Puja, Punyahavachanam and Ankurarpanam, marking the formal beginning of the sacred festival.

As part of the Pavitrotsavams, Pavitra Pratishtha will be held on July 26, Granthi Pavitra Samarpana on July 27, and Maha Poornahuti on July 28. On the concluding day, the Pancha Murthies—Sri Kapileswara Swamy, Sri Kamakshi Ammavaru, Sri Vigneswara Swamy, Sri Subrahmanya Swamy and Sri Chandikeswara Swamy—will be taken in a grand procession through the temple streets at 6 p.m.
Temple Deputy EO Smt. Nagaratna, Superintendent Sri Chandrasekhar, temple priests and officials participated in the programme.
