The ACB officials seized Rs 32.31 lakhs in cash from the house of AE during the searches
PEDDAPALLI, JULY 14, 2026: Sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau have trapped red-handed an Assistant Engineer from the Peddapalli municipality when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 2 lakhs from a contractor in Peddapalli town on Tuesday.
The ACB officials said that the engineer, Kallepalli Satheesh Kumar, was harassing the contractor seeking a bribe of Rs 2 lakh to clear the bill of a work taken up by the municipality. The contractor agreed to pay the bribe amount and approached the ACB, which in turn laid the trap and caught him red-handed.
The Municipal AE harassed contractor Battula Srinu, who had executed the development works at the burial ground in Tenuguwada on Kunaram road under TUFIDC, demanding a bribe of Rs 2 lakh for sending the file to TUFIDC in Hyderabad for clearance of the bill. Later, during the search operations at his house, the ACB pounced on a huge amount of Rs 32,31,900 lakhs and seized the amount. The ACB arrested the accused AE and produced him before the Karimnagar ACB special court.
