

BJP stages a protest in front of the University and sets fire to an effigy, and also submits a memorandum tothe University authorities and Karimnagar CP, demanding stern action be taken against Sujatha


KARIMNAGAR, MAY 08, 2025: Mild tension prevailed on the premises of Satavahana University in Karimnagar town on Thursday following the arrival of hordes of BJP activists and set fire to an effigy belonging to the university professor Surepalli Sujatha for derogatory and irresponsible remarks against the ‘Operation Sindoor’.

Surepalli Sujatha, who is a professor in the Sociology department of the University and also a member of the Telangana State Education Commission, had made derogatory remarks against the ‘Operation Sindoor’, insulting the national sentiment on her Facebook post. The BJP leaders staged a protest in front of the university and set fire to an effigy of Sujatha. The BJP Mahila Morcha leaders went round the university in search of the professor as she evaded attending the university and avoiding the wrath. It may be recalled that following the wrath from all sections, Sujatha had reportedly removed the controversial post on social media.
Irked over the adamant attitude of the government employee, the BJP Karimnagar district unit leaders met Commissioner of Police Gaush Alam and submitted a memorandum demanding the government to take stern action against the university professor for her derogatory remarks and insulting the entire nation. District BJP President G Krishna Reddy, former Mayor Y Sunil Rao and others participated in the programme.
