Karimnagar parliament constituency records 72.54 per cent polling which was 3.24 per cent higher than last elections
KARIMNAGAR, MAY 14, 2024: The Karimnagar parliament constituency recorded a record 72.54 per cent polling on Monday, which was 3.24 per cent higher than the last parliament elections.
Incidentally, the women voters have outnumbered the men voters in exercising their franchise in the Karimnagar parliament constituency. Against a total of 13,03,690 votes polled in the constituency, the women voters constitute 6,68,982 and men voters were 6,34,663.
The highest number of women voters’ turnout was reported in Vemulawada with 92,322 against the men voters of 76,040 and in Sircilla, the women voters were 96,947 voters against 88,722 men voters, in Choppadandi segment, the women voters were 92,579 voters and men voters were 83,419 voters.
Among the seven assembly segments, the Manakondur assembly recorded 77.75 per cent polling, followed Husnabad 77.25 per cent polling, Choppadandi 75.36 and Sircilla segment 75.27 per cent, Vemulawada 74.44 per cent polling and Huzurabad recorded 73.82 per cent polling. The Karimnagar assembly recorded lowest polling of 60.51 per cent.
District Election Officer and Collector Pamela Satpathy said that they had conducted the elections peacefully and in a transparent manner with the support of polling staff, employees, political parties and the people of the constituency. She said that they had increased the polling percent in the constituency with the concerted efforts of all the officials and the support of the people.
