KARIMNAGAR, MAY 14, 2024: The EVMs used in the Karimnagar parliament constituency have been stored in the strong-rooms at the SRR government arts and Science College in Karimnagar town.
The EVMs of the seven assembly segments viz Karimnagar, Manakondur, Choppadandi,Huzurabad, Husnabad, Vemulawada and Sircilla assembly segments have been stored separately seven strong-rooms. The EVMs along with VVPATs will remain in the strong-room till the counting of votes on June 4.
An elaborate security arrangement has been made to ensure the EVMs aren’t tampered with. “A three-tier security system, which involves central para-military forces, state police and district police, have been deputed at the strong-room in Karimnagar town. Besides, CCTV cameras have been installed for 24/7 vigil, said District Election Officer and Collector Pamela Satpathy.
All the EVMs and VVPATSs from all the seven segments have been bought to the strong-room amid tight security and placed in the strong-rooms separately on Tuesday. The Collector, Election general observer Amit Kataria and others visited the strong-room and supervised the ceiling of the strong-rooms in the presence of representatives of political parties.
Rajanna-Sircilla district Collector Anurag Jayanthi, Additional Collectors Praful Desai, Laxmi Kiran, Pujari Gautam, trainee Collector Ajay Yadav, RDOs K Maheshwar, Ramesh Babu, Rammurthy, ACPs Satish Babu, Srinivas G and others were also present.
