
The patient who went into a coma and refused to be treated in various hospitals in Karimnagar town was successfully treated at Yashoda hospital

KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 13, 2025: A patient suffering from Meningoencephalitis, a serious condition involving inflammation of the brain and the membranes surrounding it (meninges), often caused by infections, was successfully treated at Yashoda Hospital, Somajiguda, Hyderabad, by a team of experts, including neuro-physicians and critical care doctors.
Ramesh, a 41-year-old patient from the Peddapalli district, was suffering from a high temperature and severe headache and even went into a coma. The doctors in Karimnagar town, including the medical college,e refused to treat the patient following the severity of the condition of the patient as he went into a coma.
Following the advice, the patient’s family shifted him to Yashoda Hospital, Somajiguda, Hyderabad, where the doctors put him on ventilator support and provided treatment at the state-of-the-art ICU in the hospital for five days. Later, the doctors shifted him to a normal room and provided treatment and discharged the patient after the complete cure of the disease.
Disclosing this to newsmen here at Yashoda health centre in Karimnagar town on Thursday, Yashoda Hospital, Somajiguda, Hyderabad, Consultant Neurophysician Dr Mohan Krishna said that the seriously ill patient in critical condition was brought to the hospital, and the experts provided timely treatment and saved the life of the patient. Stating that Meningoencephalitis can be caused by various pathogens, including viruses, bacteria, fungi, and even amoebas, he said that the symptoms include high fever, headache, stiff neck, altered mental state, and seizures.
During the treatment, the doctors found that the patient was having NCSE (non-convulsive status epilepticus) through an Electroencephalogram (EEG) test to detect abnormalities in the brain. The doctors provided treatment by providing antibiotics and anti-epileptic drugs. With the prompt and 24×7 treatment at ICU, the patient recovered fully from meningoencephalitis.
Yashoda Hospital, Somajiguda, Hyderabad, head of Critical Care Dr KC Mishra attributed the successful treatment of the critical case to the state-of-the-art ICU facility and 24X7 treatment by expert doctors.
