Conductor wins appreciations from Minister for Transport and TGSRTC MD
HYDERABAD, AUGUST 19, 2024: A pregnant woman gave birth to a baby girl on the auspicious Raksh bandhan festival while traveling in a Palle Velugu TGSRTC bus on the Gadwal-Wanaparthy route on Monday.
Sandhya, a pregnant woman from Gajwel was travelling the RTC bus and on her way to Wanaparthy to tie rakhi to her brothers on the occasion of Raksha bandhan festival. When the bus reached Nachahalli, suddenly she development labour pains.
Woman conductor G Bharathi, immediately alerted the driver and stopped the bus. The conductor along with nurse, who was traveling in the same bus, rushed to the rescue of pregnant woman. They helped the woman deliver a baby girl. Later, the mother and the infant were shifted to a local hospital with the help of an ambulance. The condition of mother and child is stated to be stable.
Minister for Transport Ponnam Prabhakar and TGSRTC managing director VC Sajjanar appreciated the woman conductor Bharathi for her timely response. They appreciated the RTC employees for showing the spirit of service as social responsibility while bringing the passengers safely to their destinations.
