HYDERABAD, SEPTEMBER 14, 2024: The Singareni Collieries Company Limited is gearing up its machinery to ensure that there is an uninterrupted supply of coal to the thermal power stations in various parts of the country.
At a review meeting with the Area managers and other officials through video conference from Singareni Bhavan in Hyderabad on Saturday, SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N Balaram directed officials to ensure the continuous supply of coal to all the thermal plants situated in the State. Mr Balram instructed them to ensure that there was production of at least two lakh metric tonnes coal production and its dispatch every day.
Stating that the Singareni Company had the responsibility to provide sufficient coal to meet the State’s electricity needs, he urged the officials to maintain the coal production level to meet the demand. Efforts should be made to compensate for the loss of production lost in the last three months due to rains, he said.
Directing the officials to remove to waterlogged in the Opencast projects and excavate coal, he said that the officials should ensure that there was removal of at least 14 lakh cubic meters of overburden at the OCPs.
Similarly, he said that the Kothagudem VKOCP had secured the forest clearances and they would start the coal production works in another two months. Directors D Satyanarayana Rao. G Venkateshwar Reddy, general manager (coordination) SDM Subhani, GM (CPP) Jakkam Ramesh and others were also present.
