HYDERABAD, APRIL 02, 2025: Minister for IT and Industries Duddilla Sridhar Baby, government Advisor Harkala Venugopal, Zilla Grandhalaya Samstha chairman Annayya Goud, TGERC advisor Sashibushan Kache and others appeared before the judicial first class magistrate in Nampally court in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
It may be recalled that the Basanthnagar police have registered criminal cases against several Congress party members in August 2017, including D Sridhar Babu, for obstructing the conduct of an environmental public hearing on the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project in Peddapalli town. Following a complaint lodged by an irrigation engineer of Kataram mandal and incharge of public hearing, the police have registered criminal cases against the Congress leaders under IPC 147 (rioting), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharging his duties and other sections. The police stated that the Congress leaders had raised slogans against Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, thrown chairs into the air and disturbed the meeting and also obstructed the officials from conducting their legitimate duties of conducting a public hearing.
The other Congress leaders, who appeared before the court, include: Block Congress president Tirupati Yadav, Single window chairman Kotha Srinivas, Choppari Sadanandam, Uppatla Srinivas, Eerla Komuraiah, Polu Shiva, Seggam Rajesh, P Kranthi, E Satish, and others.
