RAIPUR (CHATTISGARH), JUNE 09, 2025: Maoists Naxalites have killed an Additional SP of Konta Division and injured several other police personnel in a pressure Improvised Explosive Device (IED) bomb blast in Sukma region on Monday.
The Naxalites have triggered a pressure bomb when the ASP Akash Rao Giripunje and others were on patrol duty on the Konta-Errabore route in the wake of Bharath Bandh call given by the banned Maoists Naxalites on June 10
In the blast, the DSP, CI and others sustained serious injuries. All the injured were rushed to the Konta hospital where Giripunje died while undergoing treatment.
IED is the most accessible weapon for Maoists. IED blasts remain the biggest challenge for armed forces navigating the Maoist cradle in Bastar region, as many security personnel and civilians have been killed in such incidents.
