

WWF State Director Farida Tampal attends as Chief Guest at a national conference on the protection of endangered species, at GDC Siddipet

SIDDIPET, APRIL 04, 2025: Farida Thampal, the state project Officer, World Wildlife Fund (WWF), stressed on the need for the protection and conservation of endangered animals and birds for the protection of ecology.
Participating as chief guest at the second day of the National Conference on ‘Envisioning Viksit Bharath @2047: Collaborative Efforts for Environmental Sustainability’ organised by IQAC and departments of Political Science and Zoology of Government Degree & P.G. College (Autonomous), Siddipet, on Friday.
On this occasion, Farida said that “It is the duty of each one of us to conserve the wildlife, which is under threat due to excessive interference of humans”. C Sudhakar Reddy, Senior Scientist working at the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), Hyderabad, explained how remote sensing technology can help identify and protect endangered species. Professor T Ramanathan from Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu, highlighted the threats posed by pollution to marine life and suggested preventive measures.
During the closing session of the conference, G Sunitha, Principal of the GDC Siddipet, congratulated research paper presenters from various universities and appreciated the efforts of IQAC, the Political Science Department, and the Zoology Department in organizing the event.
The event also featured wall magazine displays created by students on environmental conservation. Prizes were awarded to the best presentations. The conference conveners, N Haribabu, P Ayodhya Reddy, and Organizing Secretary C H Madhusudhan, along with faculty members and students who actively participated in the event.
